Every year for my birthday for the last few years I've bought myself a present. Usually it's something low-key or something I've wanted for a while. Last year, it was an iPod. This year, it was a puppy.
Her name is Winnie and she's a toy poodle. I've wanted a dog for such a long time, but people kept pelting with reasons why it wasn't a good idea. Puppies are hard work, but I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet. She's very sweet. Definitely in the puppy phase right now, but I'm so happy I finally have the little fluff I've always wanted. :)
I also celebrated my 24th birthday yesterday! I love birthdays, I tend to make a big deal out of them for all of my friends and family. It was a lovely day filled with relaxation, puppy cuddles, beer and truffle fries. I wouldn't have it any other way. I celebrated with some friends last night and as I was sitting there looking at everyone who came out to celebrate with me, I realized how lucky I am. I have crafted a beautiful little family of friends out here over the last 6 years. I was bummed to not be with my family or close friends from home, but I had a lovely evening and I'm so excited that I got to share my day with all of my friends.
